Descrizione

The Basilicaof Santa Chiarais one of the most famous churches in Naples. To make this place even more surprising is the cloister with its beautiful majolica, the result of the skill and quality of Neapolitan craftsmanship. They were built by the "riggiori" Donato and Giuseppe Massa based on a design by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro who in 1739 designed the renovation of the entire Angevin monastic complex.

This panel takes inspiration from the decorations of the famous Neapolitan cloister, which reproduce the sea, country and mountain landscapes, as well as scenes of life and celebration, depicted in the backs of the benches of the Cloister of Santa Chiara.
