Historical Curiosities

Capodimonte porcelain was born in 1743 thanks to the initiative of Charles of Bourbon and his wife Maria Amalia of Saxony, who founded the Royal Factory of Capodimonte inside the palace Neapolitan. This workshop became famous for the creation of fine porcelains that rivaled the most renowned European productions, such as those of Meissen and Sèvres.

The peculiarity of Capodimonte porcelain lies in its mixture of materials, free of kaolin, which gives the objects a translucent appearance and an incredible lightness. Among the most famous creations we find floral depictions, statuettes and decorative objects, often embellished with golden details and artistic motifs inspired by nature and mythology.

Rose shoots, in particular, have become a symbol of Capodimonte production, celebrating the beauty of nature and the delicacy of flowers through unique and refined works.
