Descrizione

The two-headed snake ring from Pompeii is inspired by the original 1st-century ring B.C., kept at the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

Made of 925 silver, this ring represents the powerful symbolism of the snake, considered an emblem of protection, wisdom, and regeneration. The two heads of the snake were particularly appreciated for representing the duality of life and death, as well as the continuity of the life cycle. Finely carved, they add a touch of charm and mystery to the jewelry.

Historical Curiosities

In Roman religion, the snake-shaped Genius was the benevolent guardian spirit of the fortunes of families as well as individuals.

In ancient Pompeii, the snake was revered as a symbol of rebirth and immortality, associated with the god Asclepius, the god of medicine and healing.

This symbolism made the snake a very popular protective amulet among the Romans.
